Installing a truck bed cover for your pickup

A truck bed cover is the best way to upgrade the appearance and functionality of a pickup truck. Depending on the demands and uses of your vehicle, a soft tonneau cover or a hard tonneau cover can be installed. Each and every cover differs in the functionality it brings to the truck. These covers will streamline the rig making it aerodynamically efficient. This allows the air to slide off the cover rather than collect in the truck bed where it creates an opposite force.  Removing such drag will make the truck fuel efficient and has been shown to extend gas mileage.

All quality truck bed covers come with a complete mounting or installation hardware and the step-by-step instructions on how to set it up.  Most tonneau covers can be mounted with a clamp-on hardware that can be installed in less than 5 minutes, while some can be a little as half an hour. The best thing is that these covers do not require any drilling on the truck bed and one can just use a handful of tools.  Here are a few tips in the general assembly and mounting of the bed cover.

The first thing a truck owner needs to know is what tonneau cover is best for his vehicle.  Finding the right cover depends on the size of the truck bed and the type of cargo it usually carries. Soft tonneau covers allow the truck to carry oversized loads while a hard tonneau cover deliversextra durability and protection. If ease of access is the priority, then a soft tonneau cover can be installed. However, if you prefer security over ease of access, then hard tonneau covers best fit your standards.

The bed cover usually has a standard kit that often includesfour bed rails, two for the long sides and two are intended for the head and back of the truck bed.  Some internal bed rails are also included which fits side to side in the back of the truck. When the all components are laid out, you can start connecting the short bars to form a square, sliding the bar ends into place. Once it is properly locked into place, one can tighten the screws to properly hold it on the truck bed.

Depending on the type of tonneau cover, the right cover will snap into place on the vehicle’s rail bars while others can just lock and roll a bed cover.  If one is unsure about installation of the cover, you may consult the directions that came with the kit for any additional specifics on mounting the tonneau cover.

Different complications that can be brought by periodontal disease

Periodontal disease is a progressive inflammatory disease of the gingival and the surrounding gum tissue around the teeth. This is more commonly known as gum disease and it is the number one cause of tooth loss of adults after the age of 30. It has been believed that 80% of the population above the age of 30 may have suffered from this disease with varying degrees of severity.  Many scientific studies have proven that gum disease are related to a lot of serious medical conditions that is why most people who suffer from it are looking for different treatment for periodontal disease.

People who have a long term periodontal disease have a higher risk of heart attack and stroke.  The more the severity of one’s gum problem, the greater is the risk. It has been suggested through research that the bacteria that is responsible for periodontitis can travel through the bloodstream to the arteries in the heart. There, they can trigger a cycle of inflammation and arterial narrowing that contributes to heart attacks. Bacteria in the mouth also make a person more prone to develop blood clots, increasing the likelihood of a stroke.

Pregnant women who suffer from periodontal disease may be much more likely to give birth to a premature baby than women with healthy gums.  It has been found that having such gum problems appears to limit the growth of the fetus in the womb and may trigger high levels of substances that induce labor. The problem can also be exacerbated in women who have diabetes, those who are already considered at high risk of pregnancy problems.

Uncontrolled blood sugar is another complication brought about by periodontal disease.  This is because any infection in the body can raise the blood sugar level which requires more insulin to keep it in check. Pneumonia is another problem which is caused by the inhalation of bacteria from the mouth into the lungs resultinh to aspiration pneumonia. This is a condition that’s especially common in hospitals where patients may be sedated or have tracheal tubes.

The primary cause of periodontal disease is plaque. That is why a good oral hygiene, including regular brushing and flossing, is the best periodontitis treatment.  It is best to visit the dentist or dental hygienist in order to determine the extent of the problem.  If periodontitis is left uncontrolled, it may lead not only to the loss of teeth including the severe complications mentioned above.
